Roseanne Honan is an Adolescent Education English major at CUNY Brooklyn College, and will graduate in December of this year. Recently hired as a seventh and eighth grade Social Studies and English teacher at KAPPA VI in Far Rockaway, she is preparing to begin a teaching career.
In 2005, Honan completed her Bachelor's Degree of English at SUNY New Paltz. She was particularly interested in the works of Beat writers. She was lucky enough to visit City Lights Bookstore on a recent trip to San Francisco.
Honan is interested in travel. She hopes to visit Dollywood in Tennessee sometime in the near future, but enjoys weekend trips and planning larger trips to Europe. Other hobbies include ceramic painting, photography, and visiting museums. She also loves walking her dog, Stella.
One of her favorite writing styles is the short story, and she looks forward to the the annual The Best American Short Stories series. Some of her favorite authors include Raymond Carver, Flannery O'Connor, C.S. Lewis, Truman Capote and the poetry of John Donne. Honan is an avid magazine reader, having too many subscriptions than a person really needs.
Honan grew up in and still resides in Rockaway.
