Proposal for Final Project - Norelia

I decided for my final project to create a unit of study consisting of 5 to 7 lessons at a Middle School level.

Taking under consideration how lost I felt in this class I would therefore present this unit of study as an introduction to Modernism. My goal is to give the students enough insightful information about the movement by first introducing them to modernism and then showing them the MJP. I would introduce them to a couple of key figures of that time such as Ezra Pound and also James Joyce. I would show them  2 to 3 journals and discuss the layout as we look at a couple of stories, poems and ads.  To give my students a sense of what is going on during that era I would intertwine historical events so the students will be aware of what was going on during the time of the publications.

I would use Rhythm as a jump board for the class final project. I have learned through Columbia's Teacher's College that students learn to write by looking at an author's style and technique, therefore we would discuss the writings and have them work on short stories, poems, ads and drawings by using their own talents and experinces to imitate the writers and artist of the modernist times.  As a final project I would divide the class into groups and have them work on their own "Modernist" Class Journal.
