In our exploration of ''Blast'', we aimed to understand how the outbreak of World War I made the second issue of the magazine different from the first.
The concept that most captured our interest was the inclusion and use of the word "war". How did the beginning of World War 1 impact the publication and how did this word "war" demonstrate the resulting differences?

usage of "art" goes down, though the magazine was originally meant to be a manifesto of sorts of the Vorticist movement. The original intentions of the authors is sidelined. Meanwhile, the mention of "war" increases (this is just a draft to get my ideas down)
usage of "man" goes down. Vorticism was a natinalistic movement that embraced the power of man to create. the decrease in the word usage indicates some sort of despondence-- this empowerment is no longer there.
