The British influence on Irish discourse

For my research paper, I found myself drawn to the Irish culture during modernism. My paper's overarching theme or thesis will question the possibility of British influences on Irish periodicals, as well as subject matter within those periodicals. Is there is a distinction between the British and Irish discourse, or was there an imposed imperialistic viewpoint which links both islands?

Wassily Kandinsky

For my final project I would like to research the life and work of Wassily Kandinsky, who was a Russian born (like me) artist, and one of the most influential 20th century artists. I myself do abstract art and therefore am quite interested to see how it was perceived in the early 1900’s. Kandinsky is actually credited as one of the first to do modernist abstract paintings. As Robert Scholes states “Now considered to be one of the founders of abstract art”.

Bibliographic Codes

After reading Bornstein's research on Bibliographic codes, I would like to do further research on the topic.  I intend to explain the significance of viewing a text in its "original" state and compare it to its "revised state", how a bibliographic code affects the perspective of readers and how it may alter the writer's message.

This topic is intriguing to me to research because it will help me devise lessons that will enable my students to think differently about the topics that we cover in our social studies lessons.
